Melvin Curtis Buckner

Mr. Melvin Curtis Buckner, 72, of Cleveland, TN, passed away, Friday, June 14, 2024, at home. Melvin was a loving husband and father. He was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Melvin attended Ridgeview Baptist Church for 35 years. 

Melvin loved his church family, he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School classes and he was involved in Awana, for many years. Melvin worked at Whirlpool for 45 years. Melvin loved his family. He was married to his “Sweet Sweet” for 46 years. Melvin was the best dad to his two daughters in the whole world.

Melvin was the son of the late Curtis “Babe” and Lucille Buckner. Preceded in death by two brothers, Jeffrey and Doug Buckner.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Buckner; two daughters, Jennifer and Joey Oliver, and Beth and Nick Jones; his three grandchildren, Kaylee Oliver, Elijah Oliver, and Brooks Jones; several nieces and nephews which he loved.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Ridgeview Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Purdie officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery, Cleveland, TN with Poole Funeral Home at Fike Chapel directing. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Poole Funeral Home at Fike Chapel.
