Melvin Foster Fowler
May 20, 1945 – April 14, 2025
ZEBULON – Melvin Foster Fowler 79, passed away Monday April 14, 2025. He was born in wake County, to the late William "Willie" Thomas Fowler and Rebecca "Myrtle" Pearce. Melvin worked at Theo Davis Sons for 30 years and retired from NC Department of Corrections as their safety supervisor. In his free time he enjoyed thrifting and going to estate sales, he was also a great cook. When Melvin went to do things he went all in at 100 percent. What mattered most to him was his family especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Melvin is preceded in death his brother, Calvin Fowler, & his sister, Christine Price.
Melvin is survived by his significant other of 45 years Sandra Faye Ward; daughters, Pam Bobbitt ( Stuart), Robin Hinton (Mark); sisters, Margie Fowler (Mike), Faye Andrews & Ann Lewis (Thomas); Grandchildren, Brandon Bobbitt, Christopher Callahan (Rebekah), Dylan Bobbitt (Kylie), Ryan Callahan (Taylor), Weston Hinton (Tayler), Trevor Hinton (Anna), Bryson Hinton (Brittany) & six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
A visitation will be held Thursday, April 17th from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory in Wendell, NC. Burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon, NC.
Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.
