Meriam Hester Obituary
Meriam Coleen Hester, 91, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025.
She was born on October 20, 1933, to Torrence and Nettie (Emrick) Welch. Meriam worked for many years as a bookkeeper and was a devoted member of Plainfield United Methodist Church, where she actively participated in the life of her faith community.
Meriam was married to the love of her life, Donald Eugene Hester, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a family rooted in love and faith.
She is survived by her son Mark Hester and his wife Deb (Box) Hester; her daughter Donna Hester; and her beloved grandsons, Brent and Austin Hester. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Agnes Joyner (Welch); and her brother, William Welch.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Estates of Serenity Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Plainfield United Methodist Church; 600 Simmons St.; Plainfield, IN. 46168, a place that was central to Meriam’s life and faith.
