YOUNGSTOWN – Merle "Glee" Burton, 85, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, March 22, 2025 with her loving family by her side.
She was born November 30, 1939, in Youngstown, the daughter of Carleton E. Sr. and Merle (Miller) Woodruff and was a lifelong area resident.
Glee was a proud homemaker and loved to bake for her family and friends.
She was a member of South United Presbyterian Church and John Knox Presbyterian Church.
Glee enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, painting and had an extensive doll collection.
Her husband Ralph Clayton Burton whom she married July 3, 1976 passed away on October 6, 1996.
Glee leaves behind to hold onto her memories, her children Christine C. (William) Coxson, Paula S. Burton and Michelle T. Burton, 28 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Glee was preceded in death by a brother Carleton E. "Sonny" Woodruff Jr. and a sister Marion R. "Carlie" Ferris.
Family and friends, my pay their respects to Glee on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 12:50 pm at the Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman where a funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm.
Burial will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Boardman.
