Merline “Merle” Minter Beck, 96, of Keithville, Louisiana entered her Heavenly home December 5, 2024. She was born May 8, 1928, in Gary, Texas to T.J. and Pearl Minter.
Merline graduated from Carthage High School in Texas. She was married 65 wonderful years to James Beck and together they raised 6 grateful, and blessed children. Merline worked at Shriners Children's Hospital for many years in Shreveport and retired from Libbey Glass. She enjoyed her Church family and activities, family gatherings, reunions, playing dominoes, drinking coffee on the porch, and canning all sorts of food, especially pinto beans. She enjoyed her sweets and cheeseburgers! Merline loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She was also favorite Aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Merline was preceded in death by parents, T. J. and Pearl Minter, her daughter, Jean Spruell, and her beloved husband, James W. Beck. She is survived by her children, Gary Dwain Beck and wife Rena, Joyce McKeel, James W. Beck “Bo” and wife Sherry Sue, Sandra Byrd “Sandy” and husband Eddie, Randel K. Beck “Randy” and wife Becky, sister-in-law, Emma Lou Ravenna; sister-in-law, Linda Minter, 9 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, with visitation from 1:00 -1:45p.m., and homegoing service will begin at 2:00 p.m. located at Culbertson Baptist Church, 3286 LA-151, Farmerville, LA 71241. Refreshments for the family will be provided immediately after the graveside service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Scott Jennings. Honoring Merline as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and family friends: Branden Beck, JW. Beck, Hunter Beck, Lars Bornkessel II, Drayden Bornkessel and Charlie Robinson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren: Gary Dwain Beck, Jennifer Hines, James Lee McKeel, Renee’ Bornkessel, Angelica Byrd, Paige Beck and Charles Calvin Ferguson, II
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cemetery fund, Youth and Missions, or Vacation Bible School fund at Culbertson Baptist Church 3286 Highway 151, Farmerville, LA 71241.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the following caregivers for their support and care: Louisiana Home Health, Gentiva Hospice, Keithville Fire Department, Balentine Ambulance Service, and Quincy Myles for your faithful attentiveness and care of our mom. Also, a heartfelt thank you to Connie Nowlin for all you did this last year to make sure Mom was able to carry out her wishes to remain comfortable, happy and cared for in her own home in her last years of life providing exceptional care to our mom and loving her as your own.
