Merry Lynn Ackett, 78, of Eustis, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, surrounded by her daughters and the caring nursing staff who looked after her.
Born on February 25, 1947, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Merry was the only child of Camilla Monroe Thomas and Kenneth Leroy Ackett. She was deeply loved by her parents and shared a very close bond with her mother. In her final years, Merry often spoke of her mother and found comfort in those memories. It brings her family great peace to know they are reunited.
Merry was fiercely independent but had a gentle, kind heart. She always found something nice to say about everyone she met and shared it without hesitation. Her compliments came from genuine kindness and childlike sincerity. She loved making people feel good.
Her love for nature was most evident in the care she took of her plants. With a green thumb, she would often take a clipping, nurture it until it grew strong, and then gift it in one of her signature terra-cotta pots.
She loved each of her dogs very much, adoring them as if they were her own children. Her daughters often teased her that they had sibling rivalry with her dogs.
Merry was preceded in death by her former husband, Glen Sellers, who loved her for most of his life and affectionately called her "T.L.," short for True Love.
She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Bryant (Michael) and Stacey Herzbrun (Lewis), and two granddaughters, Payton Ellis (Elliott) and Reese Herzbrun, whom she loved very much.
A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers or cards, they ask that the next time you hug your loved ones, you hold them a little longer, a little tighter, and think of Merry.
Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
