Michael D. "Mouse" Apitz, age 64, of New Ulm passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
A private graveside service will be held.
A celebration of life will take place from 12:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Apitz Service Station located at 426 North Front Street in New Ulm.
Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy Apitz; son, Zach Apitz; daughters, Michelle (Ryan Wroge) Apitz, Ashley Apitz; grandchildren, Austin Apitz, Tayden Moldan, Jameson Apitz and Hudson Wroge (due in January); sisters, Lisa (Bob) Pumper, Kari (Tim Meidl) Apitz; brothers, John (Gail) Apitz, Scott (Sharon) Apitz, Bryan (Amy) Apitz; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Meeko.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Otto and Emma Apitz and Arnold and Margaret Stimpert; and his sister, Jean Freiderich.
Michael David Apitz was born November 15, 1959 to Harold "Bud" Sr. and Joan (Stimpert) Apitz in New Ulm. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and graduated from New Ulm Public High School. Mike was united in marriage to Cindy Dagner on July 17, 1981 in Lamberton, MN. He worked at Apitz Service Station, Cook Sanitation, Waste Management, RVS Sanitation and Auto Value. He enjoyed working on cars, driving his side by side, bonfires and classic country music but above all else he loved to spend time with his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Blessed be his memory.

Mouse ALWAYS had a smile on his face. Gone too soon ............ love and sympathies to Cindy and the kids and to the ENTIRE Apitz family . I hope to make it down there on Saturday Cheers to Mouse .
