Michael (Mike) Beard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Marion, Ohio. Mike was the cherished son of Russell Lee Beard and Sue Nell (Loving) Beard. He graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1974. He was a man whose kindness, warmth, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Mike had a deep love for life’s simple joys – his loyal dogs, the sound of a strike at the bowling alley, the casinos of Las Vegas, and, above all, caring for others. Whether offering a helping hand, a warm smile, or a listening ear, Mike had a way of making those around him feel seen and valued. His compassion wasn’t loud – it was steady, genuine, and deeply felt. His hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence were recognized by all who may have worked with him at Wilhelm’s Paints, Whirlpool Corporation, and Buckeye Sun Control. Whether through his leadership, mentorship, or unwavering determination, he left a lasting legacy with all he interacted with.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jamie, with whom he shared a life of love and partnership; his two sons, Casey (Ann) Beard and Josh Beard, who carry forward his legacy of integrity and quiet resilience; his brother, Jon Beard, who will hold his memory of a lifetime of laughter; and his cherished grandsons, Dylan and Ethan Beard, who brought him immense pride and joy. His presence in their lives was a gift that will never fade.
Mike's spirit lives on in the laughter of his grandsons, the memories of league bowling nights, and the many lives he touched with his generosity and gentle heart. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Marion Area Humane Society, 2264 Richland Rd, Marion, OH 43302, celebrating his lifelong love for dogs and his belief in caring for those who need it most.
