Michael Joseph Box passed away from this life on September 11, 2024, at the age of 58, in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Mike was born on March 22, 1966, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; he was the son of Gator Carl and Carolyn Faye (Monholland) Box. Mike grew up, attended school throughout Oklahoma, and completed his education at Edmond Memorial High School. Following the completion of his education, he joined the National Guard. Mike returned to Drumright and worked at the nursing home as the maintenance man, and during that time, he met Cindy. Mike later began working as a cross-country truck driver. In 2008, Mike gained employment with Daryl Thomason Transportation and was recently bought out by DMT Transportation, where he has worked for the past 16 years. Mike and Cindy were married on July 4, 2018, in Jennings, Oklahoma, after 20 years of being together.
Mike always enjoyed the outdoors, going fishing and being with his grandkids. He also liked riding his motorcycle and collecting guns. During his over-the-road trucking, Mike and Cindy always loved stopping and seeing the country.
Survivors are his wife Cindy of the home, two children Joshua Greer of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jessica Bozworth and David Hernandez of Jennings, Oklahoma; parents Gator and Carolyn Box of Luther, Oklahoma; three siblings Carl Box and his wife Paula of Cadiz, Kentucky, LeRae Box of Sperry, Oklahoma, and Ollie Rains of Martinsburg, West Virginia; four grandchildren Waylon, Kartar, Ethan, Riley, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mike was preceded in death by Bill Kennedy.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 20, 2024, at Shiloh Ministries in Oilton, Oklahoma, with Pastor Paul Nix officiating the services. Interment will be held privately in the Jennings Cemetery. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
