Michael A. Bucklar was raised in St. Clair, PA. Michael moved to the Gulf Coast in 2004 to attend The University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a Master's degree in History. He volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross and the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, while also working as an after-school counselor with the Boys & Girls Club. He later spent several years at Biloxi High School as a Behavioral Specialist before obtaining his real estate license. Michael was an active and dedicated member of his community, coaching, umpiring baseball, refereeing football, mentoring, and volunteering with youth throughout the Gulf Coast. Michael A. Buckler passed away peacefully at his home in Biloxi, MS, surrounded by family and loved ones, on January 7, 2026 at the age of 45.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony and JoAnn Bucklar, and his father, Richard Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Nagy Bucklar; his son, Bryk Bucklar; his daughters, Elizabeth Knott, Rebecca Barlow, and Jennifer Rowell; his grandchildren, Liam, Elaina, and Rylan; his mother, Donna Bucklar Brignac; his stepfather, Al Brignac; his brothers, John Petrozino, Mathew Fisher, and Garrett Temple; and his sister, Shelbi Temple.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Michael's memory to the Biloxi Youth Baseball Program, a cause close to his heart. Donations may be made at any Peoples Bank location to the Biloxi Youth Baseball account, or mailed to Biloxi Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 4234, Biloxi, MS 39535.
