Michael Burroughs Obituary

Born on September 23, 1945, Michael lived a life rooted in love for family, service to country, and appreciation for the outdoors. He found great joy in fishing, spending time in nature, and making frequent visits to Panama to be with his extended family. Known for his warm heart and deep loyalty, Michael was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Luzmila Burroughs; his devoted daughter, Robin Lancon and her husband, Denny; his cherished grandson, David DePaula; his brother, Thomas Burroughs; his sister, Jessica "Sissy" Burroughs; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jess Willard and Blanche Theresa Burroughs; his brother, Patrick C. Burroughs; and his sister, Barbara Louise Price.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Ochsner Medical Center, the caring team at DaVita Dialysis Center, and the dedicated staff at the Baton Rouge VA for their compassion and support throughout Michael's medical journey.

Thank you, Michael, for a life well lived and fully shared with my dear Luzmila.
Thank you for teaching me the art of fishing, how to prepare crawfish, and above all, for showing me how to enjoy the simple and meaningful moments in life.
Thank you also for the unforgettable tours through the plantations of Baton Rouge and for giving me a glimpse into the life and spirit of New Orleans.
Your warmth, joy, and generosity leave an indelible mark. We will always remember you with love and gratitude.
