Michael Allen Burtzlaff, a lifelong resident of Three Oaks, MI, passed away on May 14, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on April 9, 1966, to the late Jacob and Charlotte (Sasson) Burtzlaff, Michael's life was a testament to the values of hard work, family, and the joys of simple living.
Michael was a proud graduate of Galien High School. On March 23, 1993 he was joined in marriage to Merlene Smith. Michael worked for many years doing landscaping for Gemini Landscaping. His commitment to his work was evident in the meticulous care he took with every lawn he tended, leaving a trail of beauty in his wake.
A man of simple tastes and pleasures, Michael found joy in the everyday aspects of life. His easygoing nature and warm smile were a comfort to all who knew him. He was a man who knew the value of a hard day's work, the quiet of a peaceful evening, and the love of a close-knit family.
Michael's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Merlene (Smith) Burtzlaff, who stood by his side in love and partnership. He is also survived by his step-children, Tom, John, and Judy Holman, and eleven grandchildren, who will miss his gentle guidance and unwavering support. Michael also leaves behind a sister, Iris (Jim) Lightner, and a brother, John Burtzloff, along with a community of friends and relatives who were touched by his kind spirit.
In keeping with family wishes cremation will take place and no services will be held. Palmer Funeral - Hoven Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences for the family may be left by visiting www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
