Michael Check Obituary
After graduating from Liberty High School, Michael proudly served his country with four years of service in the United States Air Force. He spent the majority of his working career at Bethlehem Steel Company. Following his retirement, Michael continued to stay active, driving a paratransit bus for Palmeri Transit in Easton, Pennsylvania, for many years and later delivering auto parts for CarQuest in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
In 2013, Michael and his wife, Karen, relocated to Lewes, Delaware. In his spare time, you could find Michael working on any project that involved tools.
Michael was preceded in death by his first wife, MaryAnn, and by his parents, Tessie and Michael Check, Sr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his stepdaughter, Amy; her husband, Marc; and his grandson, Eli. Michael is also survived by his brother, James; his niece, Jennifer; and her family.
Michael shared a special bond with the family's mini schnauzer, Tyler, who could often be found snuggled up and napping by his side.
A private family burial will take place at Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brandywine SPCA Georgetown, 22918 Dupont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.

Mike and Karen were our wonderful neighbors in Bethlehem Township for over 20 years. Mike and Neal had many conversations over the fence separating our back yards. They jokingly took on the roles from the sitcom Home Improvement. Mike was Wilson calling to Neal, who represented Tim. Mike was quick to offer advice or assist with any projects Neal was working on. Mike helped build our deck and once drove his snow blower around the block to clear our driveway. Mike and Neal took pride in their property and were always doing yard work. But Mike could be counted on to call to Neal for a break to chat and offer a beer. We missed them when they moved to Delaware but we were able to visit them and see their new home. Our daughter lived near them while attending college. Mike even helped her late on a Sunday evening when she had a problem with a smoke detector. We are so blessed
that Mike and Karen touched our lives and May he rest in peace with our Lord and Savior..

Michael, you have made your final flight into the wild blue yonder´s. You are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Have a smooth flight airman.
