Michael Wayne Clanton

Michael Wayne Clanton, 73, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at his residence with his loving daughter by his side.

He was born in Gaston County, North Carolina, on may 23, 1951 to the late Pink R Clanton and Lucille Mae Clanton. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Douglas and Phyllis Clanton.

Michael was a friend to everyone he met and loved his family. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He loved dogs, fishing and ID channel TV. He was a humorous person and loved life.

He retired from Wix Inc. after 25 years of dedicated service; and later retired as a Correctional officer in Newberry.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Janet Clanton; sister, Carol Clanton of Bostic Sunshine, NC; several nieces and nephews; and many special close friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing care given to Michael from Via Health Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.,until 3:00p.m. on Friday, March 21st at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
