Michael Lee Defever

Michael Lee Defever, a resident of Oakland Township and formerly of Royal Oak, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2023. He was 50 years old.
Michael was born to his parents, Robert and Anita (nee Boisseau) Defever on March 18, 1972 in Warren, MI. He later attended and graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak in 1990.
Michael went on to work as a horse trainer, traveling state-to-state to various farms and racetracks. He loved the horses, and his commitment to working with them was only matched by his passion for music. Throughout his life, Michael loved music and was not often found without his headphones.
Michael's appreciation for horse training and music was surpassed only by his love for his family. He is survived by his sons, Michael A. Defever and Daniel Defever; granddaughters, Alaska Defever and Raelynn Defever; and his mother, Anita Defever. Michael is also survived by his siblings, Robert Defever, Diane (Marty) Ardito, James Bentley, and Brian Bentley.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Defever.
Memorial visitation for Michael will be held from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM on his birthday, Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Gramer Funeral Home, 705. N. Main Street (Livernois btw. 14 & 15 Mile), Clawson, MI 48017; (248) 435-9010. His memorial service will commence at 1:00 PM.
