Michael F. Delp

Michael "Mike" F. Delp of Holland, PA passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the age of 80. Mike was born October 1, 1944 to loving parents, Charles Delp and Helen (Hart) Correia. He was raised in Philadelphia, PA along with his brother Charles (Bud) and his sister Agnes (Bootie). Mike attended North Catholic High School where he played basketball and ran track. Upon graduation, he was drafted by the Army and served in the Vietnam War. After serving in the military, Mike worked as a clerk in the accounting department of a large company. He went on to attend LaSalle University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He worked for the IRS as a Revenue Agent for many years until his retirement in 2008.
Mike met Marge, the love of his life, at the Riptide in Wildwood, NJ. He would tell anyone who would listen, with a wink, that "she approached me." After dating for one year, Mike and Marge got engaged and married the following June. They had two sons, Mike and Matt and spent fifty-six wonderful years together. The deep sense of love and commitment that they had one another was apparent to all who knew them. In good fun they were referred to as "The happiest couple in Holland."
Mike was a loyal member of St. Bede the Venerable Church where he and Marge attended mass every Sunday. He also loved downloading music and making playlists. He was a fan of classic Rock and Roll and loved Bob Dylan. Mike was a loving and attentive father and a gentle grandfather. One of the great joys in Mike's life was watching his children and grandchildren participate in their favorite sport or activity. He could always be seen at their games or events with a camera in hand to capture their special moments. Mike was many things to many people (son, brother, dad, husband and poppop, uncle and friend). He was a kind, gentle man with a calm demeanor and sharp sense of humor. Mike could put anyone at ease and would do anything for you. He will be greatly missed.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Delp and Helen Correia and his brother, Charles (Bud). He is also survived by his sister, Agnes (Bootie), his wife Marge, his sons, Mike (Kristine), Matt (Gina), and his grandchildren; Olivia, Cole, Ryan, Mia, Adam, and Julianne. Mike is survived and loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relative and friends are invited to attend Mike's viewing on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass at 11:30am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland PA 18966. Interment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown with military honors.
