Michael "Mikey" Thomas Dixon
December 4, 1973 ~ August 11, 2022
Our brother Michael "Mikey" passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, August 11, 2022. For my brother, that was the only peaceful thing he ever did! Our brother entered this world like a bulldozer on December 4, 1973, ready to cause trouble! Trouble should have been his middle name, as he was always finding ways to get into it. Our brother was stubborn and a bit of a smart aleck; he did what he wanted when he wanted to do it.
As the middle child of the family, he did everything he could to torture us. If he wasn't breaking something in the house, he was stealing a brand-new package of cookies from the kitchen cupboard. He almost set the house on fire a few times and had to learn about electricity the hard way. No stuffed animals were safe around him; it was always a nice to come home and see a pile of stuffed animals with their eyes missing! The list goes on and on and on and, well you get it.
Our brother played football, ran track and wrestled in school where he held a few titles. Did he want to be in sports? No! Was it our Dad's way of keeping him out of trouble? Yes! Did it work? Absolutely not! Our poor Dad had many sleepless nights not knowing what to do with this kid. We are all pretty sure he was the reason my mother's hair turned white so early. He definitely kept us all on our toes.
Even though he was a huge pain in the butt; our brother was very loving. He would do anything for you. If you needed something and he didn't have it to give, he would find a way to get it for you. Behind all of his teasing, there was a lot of love. He was a straight up Mama's boy; he would do anything for her and never strayed too far from her side. He loved his family with all his heart, and we are going to miss him dearly.
Our brother is survived by his mother, Rita; his brother, Joe; his sister, Angie; brother-in-law and friend, Mike; friend and sister-in-law, Seeta; many nephews and nieces, Robert, Michael, Crystal, Roseanna and Joseph.
Mikey, say hi to dad. Tell him we love and miss him and that we are so happy he came to free you from your pain. Enjoy your reunion with the rest of the family. We love you so very much. We are sad and hurt that you left us so soon, but we know you were ready to go. Be free and rest now. Love you always!
