Michael Egloff Obituary
Michael Neil Egloff, 70, of Columbia City, Ind., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at home. Born May 14, 1953, in Wolf Lake, Ind., he was the son of the late Neil Egloff and Marilyn and Clee (Kennedy) Jagger.
He graduated from Columbia City Joint High with the Class of 1971. In his younger years he was a competitive motocross racer and all throughout his life he was an avid woodworker. He also owned Egloff Construction. Mike spent his formative years living at the lake and considered himself to be a laker up to the time of his passing. He lived a full life in which he rarely knew a stranger and came to be known as someone who would always help those in need. In the last several years of his life he began going to church with his sister Lynn, which in time helped him form his own personal relationship with God. Mike had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could. He will be missed by many.
Mike is survived by his sisters, Karen (Kurt) Wolfe, Kathy (Rick) Maggart, and Lynn (Bruce) Coyle; nephews and nieces, Derek Coyle, Miles Wolfe, Shandis Pagen, Jennifer Stevenson, Ian Wolfe, and Kyle Maggart; and several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. There will also be a gathering at Portside Pizza following the Memorial Service. Memorial donations may be given in Mike's memory and to honor the two Bassett Hounds (Chester and Tucker) that he loved dearly, to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
