Obituary published on Legacy.com by Slay Memorial Funeral Center - Aubrey on Aug. 25, 2023.
Michael Christopher Faries passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, at the age of 51. He was born on May 16, 1972, in
Charlotte, NC to Richard and Ava (Smith) Faries. Michael was a devoted and beloved father, son, brother, and friend.
Michael attended Northwest Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC and graduated from Central Piedmont Community College with his high school diploma in 1990. He shared his passion for music by singing and playing bass guitar for a band called Brotherly Love with his brother, Jonathon, and his three brothers-in-law, Kevin and Shawn Bartley, and their designated sound guy and best friend, Micah Miller. He played bass guitar in churches since he was a teenager and was fluent in sarcasm and dry wit. He loved cigars, guitars, and making people smile.
Michael was recently able to travel to Norway, India, Scotland, England, Ireland, and Canada as part of his integral contribution to his company, Quorum Software, where he worked faithfully for 18 years. He was well-respected and loved by his coworkers. There was no one that Michael was too busy to help or mentor, and he was admired for his integrity. He was committed to regaining his health and well-being and was having wonderful new experiences with greater life exuberance with the people he cared about most.
Michael is survived by his adoring mother; loving daughters, Hannah Nicole Faries of
Aubrey, TX, and Tara Elizabeth Faries of
Bentonville, AR; his devoted sons, Connor Matthew Faries and Gabriel Treyce Faries of
Aubrey, TX; beloved brother, Jonathon Faries, of Concord, NC; and cherished nephews, Ezra Nolan Faries and Jesse Noah Faries of Concord, NC; and the mother of his children and dear friend, Heather Faries.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Harvey Faries, of Concord, NC.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00AM at Slay Memorial Funeral Center in
Aubrey, TX. Friends and loved ones are invited to come together to remember and share stories of Michael's remarkable influence.
In consideration of the dear friends and family who are unable to attend the service in Texas due to the unexpected nature of events, a memorial gathering will be hosted by his brother, Jonathon Faries, and devoted mother, Ava Jean Smith Faries, of Concord, NC, in the near future.
