Michael Charles Fecto, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born November 15, 1957 in Torrington; the cherished son of William and Ann (Coury) Fecto of New Hartford.
Michael retired from Altra Industrial Motion in New Hartford after many years of dedicated service. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and panning for gold. He loved the annual family trips to Rhode Island where he would go clamming in his jeans and sneakers.
Known to all the kids as 'lil papa', between his great sense of humor and ability to connect, all the kids flocked to him: the pied Piper of the grand children if you will. He truly had a way and especially enjoyed spending time with his grand kids.
In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by his children, Mike Fecto and fiancé Sarah of Hartland and John Fecto and wife Colleen of Colebrook; 5 grandchildren, Michael A., William, Madison, Liam and Gavin; brother, Robert Fecto and husband David Killeen of West Haven; sister-in-law, Roberta Fecto of Sandisfield; and several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother, William "Billy" Fecto who passed away in 2022.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Barkhamsted Center Cemetery, Barkhamsted at 10 AM. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford has care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org. Visit an online guestbook at montano-shea.com.
