We are all here today to remember a beautiful life and soul gone too soon. But with all that being said we are here to remember the wonderful, outgoing, good spirited and kind hearted person that Michael was. We will miss him dearly and we will continue to keep his sprit alive within our hearts.
Michael L. Finch, 74, of Jackson, NJ, passed away on February 20, 2025 due to heart failure at Hackensack Meridian Medical Center, Brick Township, NJ.
Michael was born on December 5, 1950 in Newark, NJ to the late Barney M. Finch Sr. and Susie G. Finch. Michael was the oldest of his Five siblings.
Michael attended catholic school in Newark. Upon graduating high school, he joined the United States Army in 1968 attending basic training at Fort Dix, NJ and schooling at fort Benning, GA. He got stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War, after completing regular active duty, he also served in the Army National Guard totaling 27 or 30 years of service to our grateful nation. Michael was deployed to desert shield, desert storm, Saudi Arabia, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, the Gulf War, and several stateside military bases as well.
Michael is preceded in death by his sister Linda Finch-Hernandez who was the second oldest sibling. He is survived by his wife Cheretha Finch (aka Wendy); two brothers Barney M. Finch Jr. of Newark, NJ, and Ray A. Finch of Mayslanding, NJ; One sister Cheryl Finch-Cunningham (Christopher) of Vauxhall, NJ; and two children Michael L. Finch Jr. and Kenya Finch.
He also leaves behind to cherish his loving memory a host of nieces, nephews, and a lot of other family members and friends.
