Michael R Flanagan

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael R. "Mike" Flanagan. Mike was born on May 22, 1973 and deceased on July 8, 2024. Loving husband of Sarah Flanagan (nee Frank), proud father to Jacob T. Flanagan and Nora (Ben) Frank-Rast; son of the late James L. and Mary J. Flanagan, son-in-law to Fred and Anita Frank; brother to Karen (Jim) Butz, Mary Lou (Gary) Howard, James J. (Kelly) Flanagan, Tim (Kim) Flanagan and the late Kathleen Howard; dearest uncle, great uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend to many.
Out of high school, Mike served 2 years in the U.S. Navy and was assigned to the U.S.S. Ranger CV-61.
Mike was employed by Ameren Missouri (UE) for 27 years, most recently as a Construction Supervisor. He began his career as a meter reader and apprentice lineman where he completed the program and earned the status of journeyman lineman. He was then promoted to Construction Supervisor where he fulfilled various roles. He also participated in the International Lineman's Rodeo.
Mike will be remembered for his quick wit, mischievous grin, always teasing someone and carrying a rosary in his pocket at all times. He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. He was skilled in different crafts and always willing to lend a helping hand. He could even make a mean peach cobbler with a hint of nutmeg. His smile and laugh will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life Memorial visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Charles, MO 63304.
