Michael B. Folk, Sr.
1948 – 2025
Michael B. Folk, Sr., 76, of Pensacola, FL passed away at home with his family on January 1, 2025. He lost his fight with pulmonary fibrosis after struggling with it after 5 years.
Mike was born on February 26, 1948 to Henry N. Folk and Helen Abbott. He was raised in Gulf Breeze until he was 8, then moved to Pensacola. He attended Pensacola High School where he graduated before attending Pensacola Community College for a Business Degree. While there, he became a champion diver and swimmer. He later joined the U.S. Army.
Mike was a devoted Christian who loved God with all his heart. He had his Bible next to him the day he passed away. He studied it everyday for 20 years. His love for his family was the most important thing to him. He loved to laugh and tell old stories. He was a loving and kind man who cared about his friends and family and always offered to lend a hand.
Some of his last words that made his family smile was that he had the best family. He didn't realize that his children thought he was the best Dad they could have asked for.
Mike was a huge sports enthusiast and he could always be seen watching football, basketball, golf, or pretty much any sport. He loved playing golf but his favorite thing to do was go fishing and crabbing. He went fishing every chance he had. That is probably why he loved his job as a Pensacola Beach Lifeguard for many years, as he adored the water. He couldn't imagine being anywhere else. He also enjoyed working on cars, old cars in particular. He was also into fitness, walking 5 miles a day until he got sick. He earned his black belt in karate, in fact you could find him doing anything athletic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry N. Folk and Helen Abbott Folk and his sister, Linda Janeway.
Survivors include his children, Michael (Shelly) Folk and Traci (Anthony) Henderson both of Pensacola; grandkids: Tristan and Serenity Lowry of Pensacola and Farrin Folk of Destin. He is greatly missed by them all.
Services will be held at a later date.
He was a beloved father and grandfather. He was a strong, kind, and determined man, probably the strongest man his family ever knew. He loved life, and it showed in his everyday life.
In memory of Michael B. Folk, please donate to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or the Animal Shelter as he loved all animals.

I will always remember my dad as the strongest, good people l've ever known. He taught me to always fight in life for what l wanted. He was a fighter and gave it all to the end. He taught me strength.
