Michael was born on April 3rd, 1975 in Springfield IL, the Son of Fred & Colleen (Collins) Gates. He is survived by one son Isaiah Gates. One sister Debbie Otter (Elizabeth Ginger) of Hillsboro IL, and one brother Jason Gates of Washington, D.C. Nieces Jacqlyn Naugle ( Jason Hockett), Irving, IL; Jennifer (husband Joshua) Jeffers, Witt, IL, Ann McIntyre (husband, Zach) Janesville, WI, Jessica Otter (Joe Wittenmyer) along with many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Cathy Otter.
Mr. Gates was raised in the family business of Gates Pizza in Schram City, and continued his life working for many restaurants in the area.
