It is with profound sadness that I proclaim the peaceful passing of my beloved husband of 42 years, Michael G. Hudson on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 78 years. He passed away at home with his forever wife Lois by his side. Michael was born on November 21, 1946, in Lancaster the son of George and Lucille (Kress) Hudson. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1966. Before graduation, Michael enlisted in the United States Naval Reserves and after graduation he served his country in the United State Navy. He took a welding exam at John Deere and was employed as an experimental welder, retiring after 30 years. Michael was an extremely creative man, and his welding shop was unmatched as were many of his ideas of making or fixing things. On October 28, 1983, he was united in marriage to Lois Luethi McCartney at the Lancaster United Methodist Church. Michael would help anyone in need. His sense of humor was infectious, and he could always get a laugh or a chuckle. The night before he passed, he told his wife that he loved her and she replied that she loved him more and he looked at her and said, “Should we fight about it?”
In addition to his loving wife Lois, Michael is survived by his children, Matt Hudson and his children Keane and Gabriel (fiancé Gracie Klein) Hudson; Matt’s fiancé Kenda Gullickson and her children Carmen McKellips, Cheyenne (Justin) Nodorft, and Cara McKellips; Jeff (Kari) Hudson and their children Brynn and Ella Hudson; Misty Notstad and her children Devin and Brielle Notstad; sisters-in-law, Gloria Hudson and Elaine Hudson; other relatives and many friends. Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brothers: Richard (Carol), Robert, and David Hudson.
