Michael M. Iadevaia, 59, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer at the Philip Hulitar Hope Hospice Center with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Christine M. (Walsh) Iadevaia for 32 years. Born in Providence and a lifelong resident of Warwick, he was the devoted son of Thomas P. Iadevaia and the late Joan A. (Orabona) Iadevaia. Michael was the loving father of Amanda Iadevaia, Cole Iadevaia and future father-in-law to Ang Vega.
Michael worked for the Department of Defense as the Electrical/Electronics/Ship Control, Division Manager at SUPSHIP. While at SUPSHIP he received numerous awards from his peers for his leadership, mentorship and most importantly his friendship. Michael was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken class of 1984 and University of Rhode Island class of 1988.
He was a proud Rhode Islander and an avid New England sport enthusiast. He loved nothing more than being with his family at a game or at home on the deck or in front of the fireplace watching his dual (yes 2) TV's. Michael was a part of the Friar family as a Providence College men's basketball season ticket holder. He made PC games a priority. A proud member of KISS army, he loved going to rock concerts with his family. He enjoyed local breweries, Rhode Island and Clearwater beaches, family vacations, and was up for any adventure to spend time with his wife and kids. All that knew him anxiously awaited for his soulmate Christine's next post on their date nights and road trip adventures. Michael and Christine were truly the definition of love at first sight. Family time meant everything to him. His family did not just include blood, but friends and loved ones who he took in as family as well. Holidays meant assembly line prep for the baked stuff shrimp. And, no family party was complete without Uncle Mike's chicken wings.
He will be fiercely missed. Watch over us as you fly with the angels. Rest in peace our love.
His Funeral will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 at 9am from the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Gregory the Great Church. He will be laid to rest in the family lot at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. His visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 in the funeral home from 4-7pm.
