Michael Paul Johns, age 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 27th, 2024, at North Kansas City Hospital's Intensive Care Unit.
Michael was born in Blue Springs, Missouri on May 2nd, 1959. He married Susan Callaway on August 16th, 1980 in Kearney, Missouri. Together, they had 4 children Mykaela, Hannah, Robert, and Richard; and one granddaughter Lexie. Michael is preceded in death by his father Richard Johns. Michael is survived by his wife Susan Johns, his children Mykaela Townsend, Hannah Moore, Robert Johns, and Richard Johns, his granddaughter Lexie Moore, his son-in-law Patrick Moore, his mother Patty Johns, his sisters Linda Thompson and Sandy Jones.
Michael grew up as a farmer then became a carpenter and then finished his life by being a farmer again. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1977. Michael's hobbies include fishing, cooking, gardening, mowing, taking care of animals, spending time with family, driving fast cars, and watching college football or his favorite NFL team the Broncos. His favorite places were Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, or the rocking chairs on his front porch.
Being with Michael felt like being at home, everyone felt peace and comfort with him. He was the best husband, father, grandpa, and friend. Family was his #1 priority, with animals being a close second. He was a big kid at heart and a best friend to all his kids. He could always make you laugh and everyone left with a smile on their face. He was a very humble, unselfish man with a very big heart. Michael left us too soon, but his impact will live on forever.
