Michael Bernard Knight

Michael Bernard Knight died Wednesday, December 3rd in his home in Springfield Township, Ohio at the age of 70. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Russell Knight and his siblings Richard Knight, John Steven Knight, and Therese Knight. He is survived by his sister Yvonne Tomayko, his children Matthew Knight (Tina), Emily Knight Rose (Julian), Jacob Knight (Alison), Molly Decker (Nathan), and grandchildren Emmet, Henry, Aiden, Isabel, Mia, Robert, Blake, and Fiona.

Mike grew up in Akron, Ohio and attended Annunciation Catholic School and Archbishop Hoban High School. After he graduated, he served his country for three years as a United States Marine. A few years ago, he retired from Akron Children's Hospital, where he worked with many friends and family members over the years.

He loved playing with his children, reading and talking about subjects he found fascinating, and would often make people laugh with his stories and jokes. He passed his love of movies, music, literature, and sports to his children and encouraged them to pursue careers and ambitions which make the world a better place.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4:00-6:00PM at the Anthony Funeral Homes - Akron Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron, where a funeral service will be held at 6:00PM. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road in Rittman, on Friday, December 12 at 10:15; if attending, please arrive at the cemetery by 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Akron Children's Hospital, via www.kylierosesrun.com.
