Michael T. Laydon

Michael T. Laydon, 67, of East Stroudsburg, died Sunday evening, August 13, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in East Stroudsburg after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was the spouse of James L. Hammesfahr, Jr. with whom he shared 43 years together and two years of marriage.
Born on May 24, 1956 in Queens, NY, he was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Ross) Laydon.
He lived in East Stroudsburg since 1988, moving from Flushing, NY.
In earlier years Michael worked for the New York Times and most recently was employed at Genco/FedEx distribution center in Mt. Pocono.
He enjoyed photography, boating, shopping, bicycling, swimming and scuba diving.
In addition to his spouse, surviving are a brother, Robert Rothschild and wife Cathy of New York; three sisters, Patricia Cirabisi of Ohio, Caryn Gillam and husband Thomas of Florida, and Jacqueline Cardone and husband Dave of New York; a brother-in-law, Cary Hammesfahr and wife Kimberly of Connecticut; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Carrero.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
