Michael Raymond Lukas, 59, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2024, at JourneyCare in Barrington.
Mike was born on March 14, 1965, in Oak Lawn, IL, to Raymond and Patricia (Pietrzyk) Lukas. He devoted over 30 years to serving in the field of corrections, and he also worked for many years as a part-time firefighter/EMT, where his dedication and work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and the community alike.
Mike married the love of his life, Ann Marie (Korn), on June 18, 1994. He was a wonderful husband, brother, son, and son-in-law who brought joy to those around him.
Mike was known for his passion for travel, his generosity, and his unwavering friendship. A true grill master, he made the most phenomenal steaks and was always ready to share a meal with family and friends. He was a hardworking man with a big heart, a great neighbor and friend, and cherished traditions like pizza and movies on Friday night!
Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Ann Marie; his loyal “furbabies”, Duncan and Haley; his brother Allan; his father and mother-in-law, Len and Kathy Korn; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Amy) Korn, Steve (Amy) Korn, Kevin (June) Korn, Brian (Theresa) Korn, Katie (Drew) Kitterman, and Laura (Kevin) Ksiazek; and his many nieces and nephews.
In honoring Mike’s wishes, services will be private. His family appreciates the love and support from all who knew him during this difficult time.
