Michael Scott Magee, 51 of Saranac Lake passed away Saturday August 20, 2022 in the loving care of his partner of 22 years, Lisa Pedro and their son Hunter Magee.
He was born in Lake Placid on May 7, 1971, he was the son of Donna Magee and Glenn Scott Magee.
He is survived by his mother Donna Magee of Lake Clear, sister Jodie Magee of Saranac Lake, NY, brothers Todd Hoyt of Casa Grande, AZ and Bryan Magee of Lake Clear, NY. He is also survived by his son Hunter Magee, daughter Kaitlyn Magee and three stepsons; Sean Roshia, Dylan Pedro and Damian Cox. Mike loved the special times we shared as a family. He enjoyed watching the little ones and Hunter playing his favorite music on his guitar. Fun, food, music and a good story was always on the menu.
Mike always had a passion for driving which he got from his grandfather, Allen Hoyt. He drove tractor trailer throughout the eastern states, taxi for Lavigne's and later Uber. He always had a dream of owning his own cab company. Mike was also a DJ for many years. He provided his DJ services at benefits, local fire departments, weddings, Whiteface Mountain, special occasions and family gatherings. He had a way of making special moments a little more special. He liked giving the extra special touch such as the slideshows he put together for people with their favorite music to create lasting memories. He would sign off by saying, "this is Mike Magee 'til quarter to three!"
Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022 followed by a funeral service. Celebration of life reception will follow at Mount Pisgah in Saranac Lake at 4 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
