Mike was a graduate of Roncalli High School, class of 1998. He attended IU Bloomington where he studied Kinesiology and Sports Communication and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2002. He was on the Dean's List and Honor Roll. In 2006, he attended Thomas Cooley Law School where he earned his Doctor of JurisPrudence (J.D.) in 2009. He graduated Cum Laude and was on the Dean's List, Honor Roll and was Associate Editor of Thomas Cooley Law Review. He was currently working as a Land Manager at Lehigh Hanson. Mike was a loving husband and father and always supporting his children in all the sports they played. He was either on the field helping, in the stands cheering or sitting on a bucket catching for his daughter while she was throwing fastballs to him. When he wasn't cheering on his children you would find him inside watching college basketball, college softball, the NBA, NFL or watching old reruns of the Indianapolis 500. If he wasn't inside watching sports, you could find him outside grilling ribs, smoking a brisket or pork butt. He loved to grill for his family and friends. Everything Mikey did, he always had a big smile on his face.
Mike is survived by his wife Dawn Mahoney; sons Dylan and Logan Mahoney and daughter Mallory Mahoney; parents Stephen and Mary Ann Mahoney; brothers Patrick (Kaoru Miyazak) Mahoney; Timothy (Holli) Mahoney; Daniel (Kavita) Mahoney; nephews Connor and Killian Mahoney; niece Carrigan Mahoney; mother-in-law Barbara Fall; sister-in-law Angela (Rusty) Elliott; niece Madison Fall; great nephew Kai Powell. Mike is also preceded in death by his father-in-law Roy Fall.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, at 10:00 am with a full mass starting at 11:00 am at St. Roch Catholic Church 3600 S. Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at St. Roch Catholic School Gymnasium 3603 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Heart Association in Mike's honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Cremation Society of Indiana, 4115 Shelby Street.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mike was a student of mine at Roncalli High School. He always had a smile on his face. He was so polite, respectful, kind and the type of student every teacher wants to have in class. I am praying for his family and friends and offering my deepest sympathy.

I had the great honor of meeting Michael while I was performing forestry contracts which he oversaw. We saw an owl together near Logansport and the first thing he said was that he would tell his kids about the sighting. It told you everything about this Man that his family was never far from his mind. The world is much poorer upon losing such a good soul. May God give the family comfort now and in the future.
