With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Meador, a dedicated Navy veteran and cherished family man, who left us on October 12, 2025. Born on March 14, 1947, Michael lived a life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. He served his country as a Gunner's Mate during the Vietnam War, embodying the honor and commitment that defined his character.
Michael embraced every opportunity to travel and explore the wonders of nature. His deep appreciation for history and his zest for life inspired those around him. As a devoted family man, he took immense pride in his five children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, relishing the time spent together creating lasting memories. He was also blessed to share his life with his beloved partner, Kathy Campbell, whose love and support meant the world to him.
Michael's passions extended to the green fairways of the golf course, where he savored each swing and enjoyed countless rounds with friends and family. He also excelled in bowling, bringing joy and competition to the alley. Michael's vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his children: Nathan (Jill) Meador, Toby (Teresa) Meador, Heather (Steve) Meyer, Jennifer (Ryan) Leary, and Josh (Katy) Meador; his grandchildren: Joseph (Katie), Bethany, Andrew, Malori, Makenzi, Hayden, Mason, Collin, and Easton; and his great-grandchildren: Kenneth Joseph, Brock, and Hanson. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Ann McQuitty (Walt), and his nephew, Jason Mehaffie (Cris), who will carry on his legacy of love and strength. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Francis Meador, and his beloved granddaughter, Hailey Veith.
In honor of Michael's legacy, the family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Crossroads East (https://www.crossroads.net/giving) or the American Legion Post 59 of El Paso IL (99 W. Main St. El Paso, IL 61738).
