Vevean Catherine Glenda Blair was born in Houston on July 23, 1948, to Samuel Ollie Blair, Sr. and Wandadell Lee Oakley Blair, the sister of Samuel Ollie Blair, Jr. The family relocated to Conroe, Texas where Glenda graduated from Conroe High. Applying for a temporary Christmastime job at the Navasota Sears & Roebuck she met Texas A&M student Lester Quinney. He got the job and the girl. On his graduation they moved to Willis and built a home. Four years married she gave birth to Lyndon Blair and two years later to Shan O'Dean. The family moved to Nacogdoches in 1976. A mother first and foremost Glenda was also an entrepreneur: She would own and operate a child daycare operation and a restaurant in Nacogdoches, and a commercial cleaning service after moving to Apple Springs. Glenda was a lifelong Christian whose parents helped establish the Conroe Texas Church of God. She attended Nazarene and Baptist churches later in life but always considered The Church of God her official denomination. Following in her father's footsteps she remained an ardent Democrat to the end. She loved music, nature, old movies, antiques, the Aggies, and the Astros.
Glenda remained dedicated to her family throughout her life and enjoyed her granddaughters Britney, Jasmin, and Lauria. She was preceded in death by her beloved nephew Tommy Glen Blair and her husband John Meador. She is survived by her sons Blair, his wife Kennetha, their daughters Jasmin and Lauria, her son Shan, his companion Sarah, and her "grand-dog" Izzy, her granddaughter Britney White, her first husband Lester Quinney, her aunt Annabelle Johnson, her sister-in-law Patricia Blair and nephews Rod and Patrick Blair, her Uncle Devine Blair, her cousins Little Jim Blair, Birtha Oakley, Warren Oakley, Debbie Oakley, Vevian Barrow, Kandy Glass, and countless other family members and friends all of whom she loved.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, October 19, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00 PM at Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lester McAdams officiating. Interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs, TX.
Pallbearers: Warren Oakley, Jim Blair, Blair Quinney, Shan Quinney

My dear sweet cousin Glenda. My how you touched my heart. I love you so much and will miss you lots. I have many many memories of our phone calls laughing and playing around over a bunch of silly stuff like little girls ,but we would laugh for hours. I miss that. I loved all the Golden Corral lunch´s where we would meet and eat way to much and wander if we were staying to long visiting each other. It was a bunch of wonderful times. Oh also I remember how much we talked about how much you loved our family. Every last one of us. I also remember going to church as a child at the church of God in Conroe for years. You spoke so highly of our Father in Heaven and how when it´s our time to go we will all be together again and see our family that is already there. These memories of Glenda is what I hold on too. There were funny ones and sometimes sad ones missing our loved ones already passed. But mostly the laughter and humor Glenda had was to me priceless. I love you my sweet Glenda. Yes we will be together again rip
