Michael Gary Mendyk

Michael Gary Mendyk, "Sixer", age 57 of St. Charles, passed away in the arms of his wife on September 2, 2023 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw.
On Friday September 8th, 2023, Visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of memorial service at 11:30am at McGeehan Funeral Homes St. Charles Chapel.
Michael was born on May 7, 1966 to Gary and Judy (Urbain) Mendyk in Saginaw, Michigan. He met the love of his life, Penny Denton Mendyk, in Apex, North Carolina and they were married on June 11, 1993. They shared 30 years of marriage this year.
During his life, Mike's passions were snowmobiling, boating, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family at the family cabin in St. Helen. "Sixer" was known for his ability to fix anything. He enjoyed wrenching on anything with a motor, as well working as an auto body mechanic. For many years Mike was dedicated to his families concrete business, Riverside Block. He was a man of faith and devoted to supporting his family.
He loved his daughters, they were his pride and joy, he spent his time sharing and teaching his hobbies to them. Words that he always lived by were "a family that plays together, stays together".
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Penny; two daughters, Marijo (Jordan) Gengler, Madison (Dominick) Bernard; and Goddaughter, Makenzie McPherson; and baby River; his Mother, Judy (Ernesto) Mariona; siblings, Sherry Mendyk, Jill Mendyk, Patrick (Amy) Mendyk, Kristin (Dave) Davis; Nephews Jacob Mendyk and Matthew Mendyk, lifelong friends, Mitch Lake and Dave McSweyn; family friends, Kayla and Cassie; as well as many other treasured nieces, nephews and close friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his father Gary Mendyk; Grandparents Della and Lavern (Bud) Urbain and Grandparents Joe and Velma Mendyk; Uncle Rob Urbain, and cousin, Dean Keeven.
