Michael "Mike" Joseph Derden, 62, of Cumming passed away on November 6th, 2024. He was raised in Lilburn, Georgia by the late Bill and Pat Derden.
Mike was a loving husband, father, son, and friend. He had a big smile, loved conversation, and never met a stranger. Mike was an avid fan of ProWrestling and many sports teams. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and Atlanta Falcons. He was a proud fan of the Oakland Raiders before they relocated. He also played on many softball and baseball teams himself throughout the years and spent countless hours practicing ball with his dad and brother. Mike loved listening to music and would read anything he could from books to newspapers and magazines. He enjoyed cutting grass and was ready with his lawn mower anytime friends and family needed it. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe "Bill" and Patsy Sue Derden; his little sister, Patty Derden; his mother and father-in-law, Floyd "Mac" and Elizabeth "Dink" McIntyre; and his beloved dog Champ.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 33 years, Mary Jo Derden; his brother, Mark Derden and wife Sherry; his children Kelly Fouts and husband Mark, Craig Patterson, Hannah Holcomb and husband Steven, Jaret Derden and wife Leigha; and grandchildren Ace, Asher, Madden, Jackson, Makensey, Kimberlyn, Wesley, Destin, and Lane.
Funeral Services will held at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Barry Payne officiating. Interment will be at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 10th, 2024.
