Michael Matthew Nicholas, of Bensalem, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 68.
Mike was born in Camden, New Jersey and raised in Chalfont, Pa. He was one of 9 children born to the late Murt Nicholas and the late Margaret (nee Brown) (Harry).
Mike will be lovingly remembered as a fun-loving and hardworking man with a smile that lit up a room. Mike was proud of his Irish heritage, but he was truly a passionate American who loved God and his country. Halloween was one of his favorite holidays and he never missed an opportunity to dress up and celebrate with family and friends. Mike had a rewarding and impactful career as a Crane Operator and Instructor with IBEW Local#126 for over 20 years. He was dedicated to helping others achieve their personal growth and development. In his free time, Mike and his wife, "Pixie", enjoyed traveling to their home in Tybee Island, Georgia. Mike was also a board member of the Homeowners Association.
Mike was the doting husband to the love of his life, Catherine (nee Boschetti); and the ultimate dog dad to Diamond, Gucci and Sassy Rose. He was the stepfather of Angelo III (Jenny) Matarazzo and Michael (Amy) Matarazzo; grandfather of Michael (Ashley), Victoria (Frank), Julia (Ryan), Angelo IV, Michael Jr. (Elizabeth) and Christian; and great-grandfather of Casey Patrick and Lucia Jennie. Mike was a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many, who are left to cherish his memory.

Some people shine so brightly they could never be forgotten. They live on through the lives and hearts they´ve touched over the years. That would be our brother Michael. A photo of me and brother Michael at a family gathering many moons ago Skippack Roadhouse. Michael always lit up a room with his loving energy and smile. As he Iam sure continues on the other side. Shine on dear brother. Shine on.

Mike,
What can one say when something so good is taken away without warrant. I say this. Thank you. Mike, thank you for being someone in our lives that made us all smile. Thank you for the warm hugs, pats on the back and strong embrace you gave every time we met. Thank you for seeing the best in people when others didn´t bother to notice. But most of all thank you for being someone to look up to. I didn´t forget about getting together and sharing laughs so we´ll just have to take a rain check for now. Rest in Peace my Brother.

Kindly,

Mr. Craig

I meet Michael back in 1998 & went dancing in surrounding areas and so many different places while we traveled on our motorcycles. I am truly going to miss his early, early phone calls in the mornings while either of us were on our way to work and this went on for years. Also, all of the times we partied together. We never lost touch even after his meet his wife Pixie. We stayed close friends through the years. He was always my best friend in life.

He may be gone in this world but he will never be forgotten through all the memories we had.

Miss you buddy,

Skip

I´ve know and been friends with Mike for over 20 years. This was Mike at his best, always there to lend a hand. We worked on countless jobs together and taught so many classes at the hall I lost count. Mike was the true definition of a friend.

Michael, what a guy! A big strapping Irishman with a heart of Gold! Patty's Day will never be the same! We just spent our last Patty's Day with Mike & Cathy and had so much fun! Sharon always made Irish soda bread when they came and an extra loaf for Mike to take home. He loved it. Last year, we got a text from him. He took it into class to share with his students and he texted me: "I'm putting in an order for 18 more loaves!" That was Mike, always thinking of others. You had to watch what you said around Mike. If he saw that you liked something, next thing you know he would get it for you and send it to you in the mail, like a dozen red roses or a whole case of wine! Once I asked what the multi colored American flag stood for. 2 days later he sent one to us. That flag still stands tall in front of their home to this day. He had the biggest heart and couldn't do enough for you. He was so Loving, Generous and Kind to everyone, especially to Cathy. Jack has known Cathy for about 50 years, and Sharon has known her for almost 40. Mike came into her life at a time when she really needed him and the same for him and their love has grown and we're all better for that. We know that you're watching over us, we feel your presence and will Miss you Mike! You will NEVER be forgotten.

Michael was my cousin and I am beyond grateful I got to know him, hang out with him and his beautiful wife whom he adored. He was such a good man, husband and father. Loved his country, lived his life to the fullest , loved his toys and had fun doing it. I will miss you cousin. I am thankful for the times we did share. I know you are basking in the presence of the Lord and others who crossed over. May God comfort your wife and family at this time. My deepest condolences to Cathy and your entire family. Blessings, Grace and Peace. Kelly (Brown)Tucker

My brother Michael had a huge heart, filled with so much light and love and warmth. Just like our mother I´d always say to him. He was a devoted husband, and I will forever be grateful he found such joy, happiness and love in his life with his wife Cathy. I know how he adored her so as she him. He definitely made a huge impact on anyone who knew him because he had such a huge heart filled with kindness and love to all. That says so much in the world we live in today. He was so highly intelligent, quick, and focused when it came to work and his jobs. I admired my older brother deeply, and always looked up to him and will forever be so proud to be his baby sister. My heart and prayers to his wife Cathy and family. He touched many many hearts. Sunshine Michael I always called him. He´s souring now with his gigantic wings with our other angels whom crossed over and know how he will forever keep an eye on us all. And be deeply missed by so many here on earth.

To say Michael's sudden departure blew me away is an understatement. He seemed to be a picture of health and had lost weight. He looked good. But it shows how deceiving looks can be in your loved ones. You just really never know. Mike had many friends, made them where ever he went, and was loved by his family and friends. He was very supportive of me, and I will always treasure our times together.
I am proud of the person became through many hardships and difficult life events in our family.
He was able to excel at anything he set his mind to, and loved what he did do - working the equivalent of two men most of his adult life. From ditch witches (trench diggers) to massive computerized cranes, he mastered them all - enough to be teaching classes at the union hall. He was driven to the max.
I can remember him (as a young child) sitting in front of our dad's phonograph record player, listening to music as if he was totally transfixed in the music. Most of that music was classical and big swing music, which was what our dad liked.
Mike had a street legal 'quarter miler' car (1968 mercury cougar XR-7 GT 427HP), as a teenager. He loved muscle cars and going fast. That's the way he lived his life. Moving fast before our eyes - he was hard to keep up with. Rapid Roy (the stock car boy), as we used to call him way back then.
Mike worked on many power restoration crews, going to Florida, New Orleans, New England etc. He ended up being on the 'news' while restoring power in Florida, and in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. These were 16-hour days - 7 days a week until the job was done. Hard to imagine far less have the energy to pull off but that was Mike.
I could go on and on but will stop here for now. I miss you Mike, my brother and friend.
Our mother's full name was 'Margaret Mary (Brown) Nicholas Stackhouse' for anyone doing family trees etc. She always loved her golden, haired third son (fourth child) dearly.
Lastly, our deepest condolences to his wife, Cathy - we know you both loved each other very much. There are no words that can erase the void we feel.

I met Mike three years ago when my wife and I purchased the condo directly across the hall from his. I found him a man of his word, a great conversationalist and a man with a wonderful sense of humor! I am saddened by his passing and will miss him. Prayers & condolences to Kathy, Niecee and the entire family.

I met Mike as a client and we quickly became friends. He was the most sincere, honest, morally convicted man I have ever met. When Mike loved you he loved you completely. Every conversation I had with Mike at the end he said I love you. He gave love, compliments and joy effortlessly. I always felt better about my self after speaking with him. His love for Cathy was total and he tried to show it constantly. As long as she was happy he was happy. May G-d bless and comfort Cathy and family.

Mike was my brother from another mother. He was the kindest, most generous, gentle giant. He loved helping others and nothing was ever too much for him to teach, fix or help someone. He lit up a room with his smile and personality. He loved life, his family, God and our country. He will be missed by many as there is no one else like Mike. An icon with the biggest heart ever. Love you Mike
