Michael North

Michael Vincent North, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 9, 2026, in Goodyear, Arizona.

Michael was born on February 19, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Niles Township High School in Skokie and continued his education at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He later served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, where he was stationed for four years in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Michael pursued a successful career as a Design Engineer, working for Philips Ultrasound and Baxter Pharmaceuticals. In 1989, he was awarded a patent for an IV sensor developed during his time at Baxter ~ an achievement he took great pride in.

A man of quiet strength and steady faith, Michael lived his life guided by his love for God and devotion to his family. He was a caring father and grandfather whose wisdom, patience, and gentle humor left a lasting impression. He found joy in sailing, woodworking, and his lifelong model train hobby, pursuits that reflected both his creativity and precision.

He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia, Kristin, Aimee and Melissa; his grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, JD, Tabitha, Jennifer, Amanda, Mathew, Kayla, Sarah and Ryan; 22 great-grandchildren; his sister Lani; and his nephews, Jim and John. He was preceded in the death by his beloved wife, Carol; and his parents Jack and Grace North.

A memorial service celebrating Michael's life and faith will be held on February 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Best Funeral Services, 9380 W Peoria Ave., Peoria, Arizona. A reception will immediately follow at 18894 W. Clinton Street, Surprise, AZ.

Michael's legacy of faith, love, service and ingenuity will live on in all who were blessed to know him
