Michael Stanley Papa, 82, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1st, 2026, at the Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Patricia Clark Papa. Michael was born in Meriden on December 2nd, 1943, and was the son of the late Frank and Doris Ciszek Papa. Michael was a 1964 graduate of North Haven High School. Michael was an operating engineer, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Local 478 for over 55 years. Michael was an active member of St. Monica's Church in Northford and served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Libero Pensiero Society in Wallingford and the former Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club in West Haven. Michael loved Harley Davidson, classic cars, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved unconditionally. In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his children, Frank M. Papa, Sr. and Carla Papa Perone (Louis, Jr.), his grandchildren, Carissa and Lorenzo Perone, and Frank, Jr., Faith, and Fiona Papa, and his brother, Stanley Papa. Michael was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Boguniecki.
The visiting hour will be Friday, January 9th, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Ambrose Parish at St. Monica Church, 1331 Middletown Avenue, Northford, CT 06472, at 11:00 o'clock. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
