Michael L. Pape, known to his loved ones as Mike, passed away on July 19, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on August 23, 1955, in Boston, MA, but lived in Topeka, KS most of his life.
Mike had a deep love for the Lord and dedicated his life to sharing the word of God with others. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and support those struggling with addiction, using the teachings of the Lord to guide and inspire them.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed his favorite hobbies, with fishing being at the top of the list. He found solace and happiness in being by a lake, casting his line, and immersing himself in the peacefulness of nature.
Sports also held a special place in Mike's heart. He was a passionate fan of the KC Royals baseball team, the Chiefs football team, and the KU Jayhawks, always cheering them on with enthusiasm.
Mike is survived by his wife Chris Barrett, and three sisters Susan Neff (Wayne), Carla McInteer (Chris), Barbara Feltner (Mark) as well as his two nieces and five nephews. He leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting impact on the lives of those he encountered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Louise Pape.
His kind and compassionate nature, coupled with his unwavering faith, inspired many. Mike will be remembered as a pillar of strength, offering support and guidance to those in need.
A Celebration of Life will be at First Southern Baptist Church, Wednesday July, 31st at 6:00pm, in the Fellowship Hall.

Mike was Poppy to us, my youngest named him it and he was incredibly proud to be their Poppy. He would always introduce the girls right away as his granddaughter's. We are so blessed to have had him in our lives and will be remembered as our family, our Poppy. You are already a missing piece in our puzzle, Poppy.
