Born on May 17, 1974, at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Shawn was the son of Diane Crace Howard and the late Gary Perkins. His father; maternal grandparents, Herman and Ruie Crace, and paternal grandparents, Jack and Luna Perkins, preceded him in death.
He is a graduate of Magoffin County High School Class of 1992, where he was voted as Mr. MCHS.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Diane Crace Howard and husband Charles of Salyersville, Kentucky, sons, Ryder Perkins of Staffordsville, Kentucky, Mason Kash "Shooter" Perkins of Morehead, Kentucky, step-daughter, Rylea Jade Salyer of Lexington, Kentucky, companion, Mary Standifer of Morehead, Kentucky, he is also remembered by a host of extended family, and friends who love and will deeply miss him.
Funeral services for Michael Shawn Perkins will be conducted Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky. Clergy Floyd Arnett will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Interment will follow in the Elzie and Cracie Conley Cemetery on Rt. 40 in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after 6:00 PM and anytime prior to the funeral service.
