Michael Alan Petz of Ormond Beach was called home on Thursday December 7, 2023. Michael was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 14, 1952 to parents Eugene Petz and Mary Roe. He remained in Detroit until the time he joined the Navy and came to Florida in 1972. He would later be honorably discharged from the Navy. Michael became a firefighter which was his passion for 46 years, working at several different stations along the way. Michael loved working with his hands and was also a carpenter. He was always a worker and loved his family dearly. He was there for advice and knowledge for anyone who needed it. Michael met the love of his life Patricia Petz in 1974 and was married for 49 years. They had 3 children Michael John Petz (Deceased), Timothy Alan Petz, and Wendy Anne Petz. Michael is preceded in death by his brother David and his mother Mary. Survivors include his sister Cheryl (Richard), Brother Bob and sister Kathy, his children Wendy Petz (Jonathan Jones), Timothy Petz, (Luciana Petz), 6 grandchildren Stephen, Jonathan, Logan, Mason, Miles, and Liam, nieces and nephews Mikala, Nicholas, and Steven. Michael truly touched so many lives and will be missed by so many. He was a great man. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday December 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Dale Woodward Funeral Homes Chapel by the Sea 1780 Ocean Shore Boulevard Ormond Beach with Father Queen as officiant.
