Obituary of Michael Eugene Pryor
Michael (Mike) Eugene Pryor, 70, of Mountlake Terrace, WA passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Swedish Medical Center-Edmonds. Memorial & Celebration Of Life service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Amazing Grace Spiritual Center, 2007 NW 61st St., Seattle, WA.
Mr. Pryor was born November 12, 1951, in Los Angeles, CA, and lived in Inglewood, CA and Denver, CO before coming to the Seattle area in 1978. Mike's educational pursuits included BA Degree, CA State University Long Beach, MA Div Degree, Denver Conservative Baptist Seminary, BSEE Degree, Seattle University.
Mike was employed by Boeing Aircraft until his retirement and was well known in the Northwest as a brilliant songwriter, performer, humorist, fiction writer, and playwright. He often participated in "open mic" sessions. Mike's other great joys were being out in nature enjoying long bike rides & camping with family and friends. He was a gentle and warm human being who made life better for all those privileged to know him.
Mike is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Jean Pryor, Inglewood, CA, brothers, Steven M. Pryor, Amelia, Italy, and James N. Pryor (Angela), Chino, CA; sister Kathryn L. Dickinson (Jeff), Shelley, ID; nieces, Jennifer C. Lopez (Anthony), Whittier, CA, Michelle A. Sandoval (Victor), Norco, CA; three great-nephews and two great-nieces. We will miss him more than words can say. He was predeceased by his father, Harold C. Pryor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation (michaeljfox.org) in Mike's memory.
