Michael Reed Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 21, 2025.
Michael Walter Reed of Douglasville, GA passed away on the morning of June 20th, 2025. He is survived by 1 sister, Natalie Reed, and his father, Gregg Reed. He was very close with his mother who passed March 2019 and believed there was never a better person. He spent nearly every summer with his extended family and said all his best memories in his life came from these summer adventures.
His fiancée called him Mikey as this reminded him of a younger time in his life where he was happy, healthy and carefree. He was a father to her 2 children, Korben (15) & Lydia (19). He had the same college roommate for all 4 years of undergrad, his best friend, Zach.
He graduated from UGA with a BS in Psychology and completed his Juris Doctorate at GSU. During his law school experience, he interned with the Health Law Partnership, an educational partnership designed to promote public health through teaching and learning. His legal career continued at several law firms until he became a solo practitioner through Reed Law Group. He loved the law and could not resist fixing injustices, always chasing windmills.
His primary interest was storytelling and tinkering with his latest projects; home efficiency and repair, computer improvement endeavors, anything mechanical or electrical that allowed him to know how things work and have their maximum output at minimal effort. He always had a large following of woodland and domestic critters that enjoyed his conversational style as he raged against the universe.
His family and friends will have a celebration of life at his fiancée's house in Douglasville on Saturday, June 21st.
