Atlas – Michael "Mick" Rusinko, 57, of 124 W. Girard St., passed away on April 16, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
He was born at Shamokin State Hospital on January 1, 1968, the son of the late Michael and Teresa (Thul) Rusinko.
Michael was a lifelong resident of Atlas. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School, Class of 1985, and worked as a machinist for Dana Corporation in Pottstown.
Michael was a member of the Catholic faith. He was passionate about woodworking, carving, gardening, painting, shopping, and puzzles. Most recently, he had taken up airbrushing. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. A die-hard Oakland Raiders fan, Michael also had a deep love for animals, especially his cats, and took great joy in caring for strays.
Michael is survived by his son, Bryon Rusinko and wife, Jadan of Valley View; a daughter, Allison Rusinko of Lavelle; a future grandson, Brantley; two sisters, Michelle Wagner and husband, Steve "Animal" of Kulpmont and Brandy Nunez of Shamokin Dam; four aunts. Rusty Devine, Marge Snyder, Julie Thul, and Gayle Guinther; an uncle, John Thul; two nephews, Coty Rusinko and Walter Britton III; a niece, Brandi Hughes; three great nephews, Lavryn, Lukah, and Leilan Rusinko; and two great-nieces, Anna and Emili Britton; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his uncle, Larry Thul.
A celebration of life will be announced at the convenience of the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Road, Sunbury, PA 17801. Arrangements are in the care of C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mt.
