Michael Paul Jr.
Michael Paul Sauro Jr., 71, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 26, 2024.
Michael was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on September 30, 1952, to Michael and Jeannine (Gauthier) Sauro. He married the former Kathy Geeting on June 9, 1973 and together they were blessed with 47 years of marriage until her death in March 2021. Mike worked for 40+ years as a tool and die maker before retiring in 2019. After retirement, Mike enjoyed traveling with his wife around the country, and watching his grandson play percussion in marching and concert bands. Mike enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and making decorative hunting knives as gifts for family and friends. Mike was a patient and hard-working family man who will be deeply missed.
A tremendous and heartfelt thank you to the exceptional care team at Chelsea Retirement Community, Towsley Village, who lovingly and compassionately cared for Mike like he was their own dad.
SURVIVORS
Children, Stacey (Matthew) Daugherty, and Angela (Jason) Hooker; grandson Brady Daugherty; cousins, Toni Swartz, Jeannine LoDico, John Rayl, Jim O'Jibway and their families. Nephew Thomas (Michele) Backer; nephew Tony and niece Erica Backer and their daughters Taja and Chan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathy; son Michael Paul III; sister Mary; grandparents, parents, aunts, and uncles.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 12:00PM at Clock Funeral Home 1469 Peck Street Muskegon. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Interment will be at Mona View Cemetery.
