(nee Cooper)

On Monday, March 4, 2024 Fern Sauro passed away peacefully at Lyngblomsten Care Center in St Paul at the age of 92.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Christopher; mother and father, Mary and Art Cooper; brothers, Gary Cooper, Raymond Cooper and Frank Cooper; and sisters, Pat Weidall, Lorna Holm, Eldora (Vicki) Granger and Marline Cooper.

Fern is survived by her children, Chris and Heather; grandchildren, Eric Delmonico and Gianna Steiner; sisters, Ilene George and Beverly “Kim” Ramacher; and many nieces and nephews.

Fern was born in Crosby, MN, but moved to the Cities when she was young. Fern loved to roller-skate when she was younger and was pretty good at it. She also played the accordion; as she got older, she really enjoyed playing the organ and would play at Schmitt Music. She also enjoyed volunteering at Saint Rose of Lima for many years, and worked in the school cafeteria for some time. She loved her church.

Spending time with her mother, sisters, children, and grandchildren meant the world to her. Fern was a kind loving person and would help anyone in need. She was loved by many and will be truly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 11:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 2090 N Hamline Ave, Roseville. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10 - 11 AM. Interment will be at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
