Michael E. Scheers, 59
Michael Eugene Scheers, affectionately known as Mike to most, was born on December 16, 1966 in Dover, DE to Eugene and Nancy Scheers and peacefully passed on December 27, 2025 at home.
Mike was a graduate of Dover High School, class of 1985. He began his 27 year long career at the City of Dover in 1987 where he later retired from in 2013. As an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, Mike enjoyed going to games and posting up in front of a tv for Sunday football with his favorite food, pizza! He was a lover of all fast cars and motorcycles; having owned several Harley Davidsons, Corvettes, and Mustangs in his day. He also enjoyed playing pool and being on pool leagues, but most of all, his favorite past time, was spending time with his family.
Mike was greeted in heaven by his grandparents, father, Eugene Scheers who passed in 2015, special aunt, Robin Apostolina who passed earlier this year, and several other aunts and uncles.
Mike will greatly missed by all that knew him, but especially by his survivors.
He is survived by his adoring mother, Nancy Scheers of Dover, his only daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Dominique Christmas of Magnolia, grandchildren, Eric, Ethan, Bria, Aniah, Aaliyah, and Sarayah, special cousins, Kathryn and Kylie Apostolina of California, and dear friend, Larry Rose of Dover.
Michael spent the last several years in kidney care so the family wishes to send an extended thank you for those who worked effortlessly to make him as comfortable as possible at Fresenius Kidney Care in Smyrna and North Dover.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
