Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Covenant HealthCare. Age 69 years. Son of the late Richard A. and Ernestina (Koller) Shepard Sr., Michael was born April 18, 1955, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was married to Theresa Ann Ortega, his loving wife of 36 years. She survives him. He was a 1973 graduate of Chesaning Union High School and went on to earn several advanced degrees in the health care field. After retiring from medicine, he was employed at Wolgast Corporation. He attended Immanuel Bible Church. Mike enjoyed being involved with K. Schwartz Snowmobile Racing Team.
Surviving besides his wife Theresa are two sons and one daughter, Ryan Shepard, Battle Creek; Shanna Shepard, Grand Rapids; Sean Shepard, Saginaw; six grandchildren; his brother, Richard Shepard Jr., Chesaning; his mother-in-law, Benita Ortega, Saginaw; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Rique and Lori Ortega, Saginaw; Ed Ortega, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Dr. Shepard's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Theresa as well as her husband Dr. Michael Shepard will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Immanuel Bible Church, 5433 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Mark Hazen will officiate. Friends may visit at the church, where the family will be present on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Immanuel Bible Church. Please share memories and condolences with the family at snowfuneralhome.net
