Michael Sielaff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Craig Funeral Home on Jan. 5, 2026.
Michael Francis Sielaff, born on September 26, 1959 in New York, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026 in St. Augustine, Florida, surrounded by his family. His life was shaped by loyalty, humor, and a deep devotion to the people he loved.
After graduating from Seaford High School, Mike proudly served his country as a helicopter mechanic in the United States Air Force. After his service, he spent many years with Verizon, retiring as a lineman; a role he approached with the same steady work ethic and hands-on skill that defined him.
He is survived by his daughter Meghan, his son Brendan, and his sisters Nancy and Patty. Mike was the proud papa of five grandchildren, all of whom he adored. They were the center of his world, and he poured his heart into every moment he spent with them.
Mike was funny, adventurous, and unapologetically himself. He was a fun and loving dad, the kind who could make you laugh even when he was driving you crazy because underneath it all was a man with a huge heart. His relationships with his family was full of humor, teasing, and the kind of everyday chaos that becomes family legend.
A viewing will be held on January 7, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Craig Funeral Home, located at 1475 Old Dixie Hwy, St. Augustine, FL 32084. Following the service, family and close friends will gather privately at the family home.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Haven Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org in his honor.

We are so sorry to hear of Mike´s passing. We have wonderful memories of being neighbors for over 35 years. Even as the years passed Mike and Kathleen always had a friendly wave and took time to stop and talk about life and how all the kids were doing. Both amazing parents and kind people loved by so many. Sending love to Meghan, Brendan and the entire family
